Hey guys, this is Jon your new Welfare officer for 2010/2011, I just thought I'd give you a heads up on what we've been doing round here to help make 2010/11 the best it can be for IADT students, no matter where you come from, and where you're going in life.

The first thing we've been working on is the Chapel, those of you that don't know, the Chapel is the social space here in IADT and in previous years has been treated awfully and was generally considered a hostile space by staff and students alike. However due to the works being done to install a new coffeeshop-esque section, which will take some of the pressure off the canteen in terms of queuing times and the ridiculous lack of seating available last year for hungry hippo's and students alike. Also we're redoing the sound system, redecorating, there's going to be new furniture and a new pool table, as well as loads of art, old and new to be added to the walls and basically any other space that can accommodate it.

So here's where you guys come in, if any students have some artwork that they would like to donate to the chapel, or would wish to do a piece specifically for it drop me an email at welfare@iadtsu.ie and we'll have a chat about it. Oh yeah and the Su will cover your materials if we like your ideas!

Anyway, enough from me, remember that the SU is here to help you out even when you're off college for the summer, so if you need anything don't hesitate to contact myself or Joe and we'll be happy to help you out however we can.
